Early today, students of the Nigerian Medical Laboratory Science Students Association, Niger Delta University (NIMELSSA-NDU), visited the Chairman of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) Bayelsa State Branch. The purpose of the visit was to intimate the Chairman of their planned Health Week 2025, scheduled for November 2nd-7th, 2025, with the Theme: Empowering Health through Laboratory Medicine
The President of NIMELSSA-NDU, Comrade Tonye Bodonyefa, provided a detailed breakdown of the planned activities, which include a scientific symposium, health talk, panel session, and quiz competition. She emphasized the critical role of medical laboratory science in achieving better health outcomes, highlighting the profession's unseen contributions to diagnosis and treatment.
Sct. Eunice Lelei, Chairman of AMLSN Bayelsa State, responded by encouraging the students to be good ambassadors of the profession. She pledged the association's full support for their Health Week, emphasizing that AMLSN is always open to supporting the growth of young students and scientists. She also encouraged them to be innovative and embrace recent technologies in advancing healthcare in Nigeria and Beyond.
