_Administration: Sct Eunice Lelei led executives (20th July 2024 to 20th July 2025)_


Over the past year, the Sct Eunice Lelei-led administration has worked tirelessly to advance the interests of our members, promote the profession, and contribute to the healthcare sector in Bayelsa State. We appreciate the trust, support, and collaboration from our members and are grateful to our elders, partners and stakeholders for their contributions to our success.


As we celebrate this milestone, we recommit ourselves to serving our members, promoting excellence, and advocating for the rights and interests of medical laboratory scientists in Bayelsa State.


𝑯𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑳𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻𝑺 𝑶𝑭 𝑶𝑼𝑹 𝑨𝑪𝑯𝑰𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑴𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑺


- Engaged with elders of the profession and government stakeholders to drive home support for our members in areas of employment, facility rehabilitation, and partnership to promote healthcare in our communities.

- Established a new chapter and reintroduced affiliate bodies, including the Bayelsa Medical University and Association of Female Medical Laboratory Scientists.

- Conducted medical outreaches and sensitization programs during important medical days, impacting our communities.

- Facilitated salary increments for Medical Laboratory Scientists working in the Bayelsa Diagnostic Centre (BDC).

- Collaborated with GMLD and YMLSF to introduce and implement a minimum remuneration rate of ₦150,000 for our colleagues in the private sector.

- Directly and indirectly involved in the employment and internship placement of young Medical Laboratory Scientists in the state.

- Prioritized members' welfarism and professional visibility, making it a top priority for our administration.

- Organized Continuous Professional Development (Webinars) for learning and growth.


𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑳𝑳𝑬𝑵𝑮𝑬𝑺 𝑨𝑵𝑫 𝑳𝑬𝑺𝑺𝑶𝑵𝑺


While we've achieved significant milestones, our administration has also faced challenges within and outside the association. We'll continue to learn from these experiences and work towards overcoming them. Key challenges include:


- Poor employment ratio

- Non-implementation of reverse call duty allowances

- Colleagues not placed on clinical hazard allowance in the state


We'll keep engaging with relevant authorities and stakeholders until these issues are fully addressed for our members and state.

As we mark this one-year milestone, we reaffirm our commitment to our members, the profession, and the healthcare sector in Bayelsa State. We'll continue to work tirelessly to promote excellence, advocate for our members' rights, and contribute to the well-being of our communities.
